VSI Unveils Enhanced Website

For many years, the Vinyl Siding Institute, Inc. (VSI) website has been a valuable resource for providing fact-based information on the benefits and performance of vinyl siding. And now the website has been enhanced to work even harder at presenting all the reasons why America Sides with Vinyl.

Originally adapted around 1780 by two brothers surnamed Adam, the Federal architectural style has seen a modern resurgence. One reason is that the style fits comfortably with the sensibilities of New Urbanism and Traditional Neighborhood Design (TND).

And because the Federal style is distinguished by its delicate features and an array of embellishments, today's vinyl siding, architectural trim and accessories are ideal for bringing the details to life.

As more and more homes become certified through leading green building programs, a growing number are incorporating vinyl siding to achieve points. In fact, the nation's first home to be certified at the Emerald level by the ANSI-approved ICC 700-2008 National Green Building Standard™ gained a portion of

its 724 points by using vinyl siding.

When nearly 300 volunteers from 25 states and Canada gathered in Lanett, Alabama, to build six new homes and rehab eight others for the inaugural Millard Fuller Legacy Build, the Vinyl Siding Institute, Inc. (VSI) was there to lend a hand. To help ensure the homes were built to last,

VSI recruited Certified Trainers to contribute their time and expertise to show the volunteers how to properly install vinyl siding and accessories. All of the vinyl siding and accessories used in Lanett were donated by the vinyl siding industry.

Certified Installers Registry Tops 4,000

Introduced in 2005, the VSI Certified Installer Program has enabled experienced professionals to receive training on proper, industry-approved vinyl siding installation techniques. The program has been a resounding success as VSI's Official Registry of Certified Installers now includes more than 4,000 Certified Installers.
